Die von Rainald Franz und Albert Kirchengast kuratierte Keramikausstellung im Mies van der Rohe Haus Berlin wird am 16. und 17. Juni 2023 in der Villa Beer Station machen. Hier wie dort werden Keramikobjekte gezeigt, die mit dem jeweiligen Raum in Dialog treten.
In der Villa Beer werden Objekte folgender Künstler:innen gezeigt:
- Uli Aigner
- Thomas Bohle
- Matthias Kaiser
- Kurt Spurey
- Arbeiten von Studierenden und Lehrenden, die im Keramikstudio der Universität fürangewandte Kunst Wien unter der Leitung von Sen. Art. Mag.a art. Sascha Alexandra Zaitseva entstanden sind,
- sowie Fotografien von Michael Wesely

Rahmenprogramm zur Ausstellung:
Workshop 17.06. 10:00 – 11:00 Hands on! Die Daumenschale
In einem Workshop wird aus dem “Karlsplatz-Ton”, der im Zuge des Baus der Wiener U-Bahn in den 70er Jahren ausgegraben wurde, die ursprünglichste aller Gefäßformen – die Daumenschale – hergestellt.

Vortrag 17.06. 13:00 – 13:30 Die Glasur

ELEMENTARY VESSELS—Between Use and Contemplation!
The ceramics exhibition curated by Rainald Franz and Albert Kirchengast at the Mies van der Rohe Haus Berlin will make a stop at Villa Beer on June 16 and 17, 2023. At both venues, ceramic objects will be on display that engage in a dialogue with their respective spaces.
At Villa Beer, works by the following artists will be on display:

In this workshop, participants will use “Karlsplatz clay”—excavated during the construction of the Vienna subway in the 1970s—to create the most basic of all vessel forms: the thumb bowl.
