“The Double Woman” – Filming at Villa Beer
In early February, Villa Beer served as the filming location for a three-part docu-fiction series by Beate Thalberg (screenplay and direction) in the film noir style titled “Die doppelte Frau,” an ORF Digital Content production under the editorial direction of ORF.at Editor-in-Chief Gerald Heidegger.
Although we do not currently rent out the house and garden as a location for film shoots or photo shoots, we made an exception for this production. It was the time period in which the story is set—and the story itself—that convinced us.
We were able to be present during filming and witness how the spaces were transformed—a fascinating process.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to once again thank Beate Thalberg and her team for their appreciation of the unique character of Villa Beer and for their thoughtful and careful handling of the site.
The first season (Episodes 1–3) was released in the summer of 2021: ORF.on
The “Villa Beer” sequels (Episodes 4–6) are expected to be released in the summer of 2022—we’ll be sure to let you know.
We’re already very curious about the new episodes!
