Es ist klar, dass eine Baustelle wie die der Villa Beer gut dokumentier werden sollte. Wir selbst machen unzählige Fotos und unsere Architekten ebenso. Aber auch alle Handwerker:innen dokumentieren jeden ihrer Arbeitsschritte, nicht nur weil sie selbst es brauchen, sondern weil eine lückenlose Dokumentation auch Teil ihres Auftrags ist.
Zusätzlich kommt das Filmteam von Rudolf Klingohr regelmäßig vorbei, um wichtige Arbeiten in bewegten Bildern festzuhalten. Daraus wird natürlich ein Film entstehen, aber das gesamte Material wird in Zukunft auch in unserem Archiv für Forschungszwecke zur Verfügung stehen.
Zu all dem haben wir seit September Stephan und Jakob Huger dafür gewonnen professionelle Fotos vom Baugeschehen zu machen. Dies lässt noch einmal einen anderen Blick auf die Baustelle zu als die vorgenannten arbeitsbezogenen Dokumentationen. Stephan Huger begleitet das Haus schon seit 2008 immer wieder fotografisch und hat auch die letzten Bilder vor Baubeginn gemacht, Vergleichsaufnahmen zu den Fotos von Julius Scherb aus dem Jahr1930. Jetzt kommt er oder sein Sohn Jakob regelmäßig oder auf unseren Wunsch auf der Baustelle vorbei und hält fest, was immer nur für kurze Zeit sichtbar ist. Eine Auswahl dieser Bilder ist bereits in unserer Blog-Galerie zu finden und wir fügen kontinuierlich neue Aufnahmen hinzu.

Construction Site Photos
It’s clear that a construction site like that of Villa Beer should be well documented. We take countless photos ourselves, and so do our architects. But all the tradespeople also document every step of their work—not only because they need it for themselves, but because comprehensive documentation is also part of their job.
In addition, Rudolf Klingohr’s film crew stops by regularly to capture important work on video. This will, of course, result in a film, but all the material will also be available in our archive for research purposes in the future.
On top of all this, since September we’ve enlisted Stephan and Jakob Huger to take professional photos of the construction process. This offers yet another perspective on the construction site, distinct from the aforementioned work-related documentation. Stephan Huger has been photographing the house on and off since 2008 and also took the last photos before construction began—images that serve as a comparison to Julius Scherb’s photos from 1930. Now he or his son Jakob stops by the construction site regularly or at our request to capture what is only visible for a short time. A selection of these images can already be found in our blog gallery, and we are continuously adding new photos.
